Billet Enterprise Platform

Build enterprise software on Billet, with ETCON

Billet is an Australian platform for building enterprise software on Microsoft Azure. Its framework decides the architecture, and its harness plans, builds and releases the work, with a person approving every step. Your team writes the business logic; Billet provides everything around it, from security and infrastructure to testing, telemetry and the interface.

ETCON works in partnership with Billet. We lead the consulting, from deciding whether Billet fits to defining your domain, preparing your Azure environment and bringing your team on board, and we resell Billet licences, so you have one accountable partner.

Sound familiar?

Signs it's time to act

  • Every team building applications with a different architecture
  • Security, sign-in and infrastructure rebuilt by hand for each new application
  • AI coding tools in use, without a controlled way to plan, review and release their work
  • Slow delivery, with too much time spent on plumbing rather than business logic
  • Limited visibility of how applications behave in production
  • Quality and security checks that depend on who reviews the code

What changes

How we help

  • Teams focus on the business

With the architecture and platform decided by Billet, your developers spend their time on the rules and processes that make your business different.

  • AI-assisted delivery, under control

Billet's harness plans and builds the work, and a person approves every ticket before it's built and reviews each plan and delivery.

  • Security and quality built in

Every change passes Billet's quality gate, including security scanning, before it ships, rather than relying on manual checks.

What Billet is

Billet has two parts. A framework decides the architecture of your applications: delivery and enforcement, security and access, infrastructure, runtime, telemetry, data and messaging, contracts and integration, and the interface. A harness turns ideas into specifications, plans the work, builds it and releases it.

What's left for your team is the domain: the business logic, rules and use cases that are specific to your organisation.

From an idea to a released change

In Billet, a person describes what's needed in a conversation, which becomes a specification with stories, scenarios, edge cases and non-goals. Billet's planning agent, Forge, reads the code and writes a plan. A person reviews the plan and approves each ticket before it's built.

Approved tickets are then built, reviewed, released and checked against the original specification, and a person accepts the delivery.

  • A specification for every change
  • A plan reviewed by a person
  • Every ticket approved before it's built
  • Delivery checked against the specification and accepted by a person

Security and quality, built into the platform

According to Billet, requests are checked at three points: the browser-facing layer, the gateway and the service itself. Sign-in uses Microsoft Entra ID, secrets are held in Azure Key Vault, applications run with managed identities, and Azure Policy rules guard each environment.

Every change passes a staged quality gate before it ships, covering types, conventions, architecture rules, tests and security scanning, and Billet's interface components are built to WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility.

  • Microsoft Entra ID sign-in, with tokens kept out of the browser
  • Secrets in Azure Key Vault, accessed through managed identities
  • Security scanning that blocks high and critical vulnerabilities and exposed secrets
  • Traces, logs and metrics collected for every service

Is Billet the right fit?

Billet suits organisations building their own enterprise applications on Microsoft Azure, where consistency, security and controlled AI-assisted delivery matter. If an existing product would meet your needs, that may be quicker and cheaper.

Because we resell Billet, we want to be transparent: our advice is still based on fit, and discovery is there to confirm it.
